Inter are one of several clubs open to the idea of a European Super League being launched according to a report from the online edition of Spanish news outlet Sport.

As per this report, several top clubs from Spain, England, Germany and France have all given their approval to a new competition that would not commence until at least 2022.

The competition’s set-up would be similar to that of the NBA with home and away games played out between 18 teams although it is currently unclear as to whether it will definitely involve 18 teams given the number of clubs interested in taking part.

In addition to Inter, the report claims that Real Madrid Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are all keen on the idea of setting up a European Super League.

World football’s governing body FIFA see it as a great initiative but European football’s governing body UEFA are not so keen on the idea as they feel it would conflict with the Champions League.
