Inter Offer Captain Samir Handanovic A Contract Extension Amid Interest From Other Clubs, Italian Media Report | OneFootball

Inter are ready to offer captain Samir Handanovic a contract extension to stay on past the end of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 37-year-old will be given a chance to stay on in the squad, although a number of other clubs are also interested in signing him on a free transfer.

Handanovic’s current contract is set to expire at the end of June, and the Nerazzurri have already identified a long-term successor to him in the form of Andre Onana who has already completed his medicals with the club.

However, the Slovenian is still thought of as having a place within the club, who intend to offer him a continued stay for at least another season.

Several clubs have already come forward with an interest in signing the 37-year-old on a free transfer when his contract expires, however, and it remains to be seen if he decides on extending with the Nerazzurri or seeking a new challenge.
