Inter are not yet satisfied with the fee that the Lisbon-based club have offered for Portuguese international midfielder Joao Mario.

Today’s print edition of Turn-based newspaper Tuttosport report that Inter have yet to approve the deal as they are still holding out for a fee valuing the player at €8 million.

The Inter midfielder has made clear his desire to stay at Sporting on a permanent basis and both clubs are hoping for the transfer to be completed.

However, since Sporting have not yet made an offer which reaches the Nerazzurri’s valuation of the player, the transfer has not yet gone through.

It is reported that there is significant will to make the deal happen, because the player strongly wishes to stay in Lisbon.

The 28-year-old played a key role in Sporting’s successful 2020-21 season in which the club won the Portuguese league title for the first time in over 19 years.

Offers have also come in from the likes of Villarreal and Nice, but the player’s mind is made up on wanting a Sporting stay.
