Inter have little interest in re-signing midfielder Salvatore Esposito from Serie B club SPAL despite some rumours that he is a target for them.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 22-year-old is not a target for the Nerazzurri particularly considering that they are backing Kristjan Asllani as their long-term option in the regista role.

Esposito had been a player who came through Inter’s youth system, but joined the academy of SPAL in 2018.

The young midfielder, older brother of Nerazzurri-owned striker Sebastiano and Primavera midfielder Francesco Pio, has since broken into SPAL’s first team and impressed with his performances in Serie B.

Esposito’s form for the Emilians has attracted transfer interest, and this has included rumours that even Inter could be interested in signing him back.

However, according to FCInterNews, there is little substance to these rumours, and in fact the Nerazzurri’s priority is to develop young midfielder Kristjan Asllani in the same position that Esposito plays.
