Wingback Raoul Bellanova is very pleased to have made the move to Inter from Cagliari, and sees it as the fulfillment of a longtime dream.

Speaking to the club’s official site, the 22-year-old gave his initial thoughts on what being a Nerazzurri player means to him, and expressed excitement at getting to work so that he can wear the Inter shirt in the upcoming season.

Inter have confirmed Bellanova’s arrival as their fifth signing of the summer transfer window, with the former Cagliari wingback seen as the player to hold down the wide areas following the departure of Ivan Perisic.

The 22-year-old enjoyed an eye-catching campaign with Cagliari last season, with his physical and technical qualities showing that he has all the potential to mark himself out as one of the standout wide players in Serie A.

Bellanova is happy to have earned a move to the Nerazzurri, and sees it as the best kind of recognition for how far he’s already come in his young career.

“It’s difficult to find the right words because a dream that I’ve had since I was young – playing for my favourite team – is coming true,” he said. I hope to repay the faith the Club has shown in me.”

He continued that “It’s always been a dream of mine. It was also a dream playing there as an opponent of Inter, as was the case last year. It was exciting, absolutely thrilling. I can’t wait to take to the pitch in the Inter jersey.”

Of his experiences so far, Bellanova said that “They’ve really helped me, first and foremost the negative ones. They allowed me to learn a lot. Now, I’m at a bigger Club and everything will be more difficult, but I’m eager to start.”

On his style of play, the 22-year-old said that “I’m certainly more of an attacking wing-back as opposed to a defensive one. I like to have the ball at my feet and run at my opponents, but I know that I can still improve a lot. However, there’s time; I’m young and really want to improve.”

On the subject of looking forward to working with coach Simone Inzaghi, he said that “I’m really keen, also because the Coach has improved various players in my position.

“I can’t wait to take to the pitch in this shirt alongside my new teammates and together with the Coach.”

And by way of a message to Inter fans, Bellanova said that “First of all, I’d like to say hello to them. I’m sure they’ll give us a lot of support and energy, like they’ve always done. I can’t wait to enter the pitch.”
