Inter Must Follow Up Serie A Thrashing Of Bologna By Winning More Difficult Match Away To Atalanta, Italian Media Argue

Inter got a much-needed result by beating Bologna in Serie A yesterday evening, and the manner of the win was impressive, but it will mean little if they cannot also beat Atalanta over the weekend.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who argue that the Nerazzurri will be obliged to follow up the 6-1 thrashing of the Rossoblu with a strong display in a more difficult environment away in Bergamo on Sunday.

Three points were virtually necessary for Inter against Bologna given that they had just come off the back of a damaging loss away to Juventus over the weekend.

In this sense, Inter beat what was in front of them and showed that there is plenty of fight left in the team, as well as the quality to really run up the scoreline.

However, the question marks remain about this Nerazzurri side’s credentials against direct Serie A rivals, as well as their ability to replicate their excellent home form on their travels.

Accordingly, if Inter do not follow up yesterday’s result with a win over Atalanta, they will be right back where they started and the rout of Bologna won’t look like much of an answer.
