Inter will make a concerted effort to bring in young and lower cost players this summer as part of a rebuild to ease the pressure on the club’s finances.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, Nerazzurri director Piero Ausilio attended Club Brugges’ Champions League defeat to Benfica on Wednesday to monitor wingback Tajon Buchanan.
The Canada international is being lined up as a replacement for Denzel Dumfries as Inter attempt to raise funds in the summer, and they hope to pounce before other interested parties can land the 24-year-old.
Elsewhere, midfielder Marcelo Brozovic could be moved on at the end of the season if Inter receive a suitable offer for him, and the Nerazzurri will revisit their interest in Valencia’s Yunus Musah.
Similarly, wingback Robin Gosens faces an uncertain future and may be replaced by Bayer Leverkusen’s Mitchel Bakker, although Tiago Djalo of Lille remains the favoured option.
Inter are also considering the availability of France international Benjamin Pavard as a higher cost option, with the 26-year-old potentially available from Bayern Munich.
Finally, Inter will turn to homegrown talent and integrate Giovanni Fabian into the squad after his loan spell at Reggina, as a replacement for Roberto Gagliardini.
