As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Inter Milan will push for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
Current Inter goalkeeper André Onana is closing in on a move to Premier League side Manchester United, which means that once that move is complete Inter can act upon Sommer. The 34-year-old is open to joining the Italian outfit with Manuel Neuer expected to return as Bayern’s number one next season.
However, as Neuer’s return is currently being delayed, allowing Sommer to leave has become harder for Die Rekordmeister. The final talks between Sommer and Bayern regarding the Swiss shot-stoppers’ future are scheduled to take place next week.
Sommer’s main objective for this upcoming campaign is to ensure he remains as Switzerland’s number one for the European Championship that will take place in Germany next summer. Therefore, guaranteeing game time is his only thought, which is why Stuttgart have also shown their interest in Sommer’s availability.
Nevertheless, Bayern understand that they are likely to lose the former Borussia Mönchengladbach goalkeeper and have, therefore, set their sights on Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvil. But, no decision by the club surrounding an approach has been made yet.
