Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti explains how much the club means to him and his family while looking back on the second-star achievement.
On Thursday evening, the club’s top brass attended the premiere of a movie titled “Inter, Due Stelle sul Cuore”. This is a film based on the events that ensued last season, leading to the Scudetto triumph.
Inter Milan president and CEO Giuseppe Marotta was present. The same goes for head coach Simone Inzaghi and the members of the squad.
For his part, Zanetti expressed his emotions while recalling the glorious events of last term. He also discussed the bond between his family and their beloved club.
“We’re reliving immense emotions, and I’m also saying this as a fan,” said the legendary Nerazzurri captain as published by the official Inter Milan website.
“My family are Inter through and through, and my children were moved when we achieved what we did.”
The Argentine insists he knew exactly what his team could achieve based on the capabilities of the squad, the staff’s competence, and especially in the manner in which they worked.
“Looking at this team, I knew we could emerge victorious. I saw how the group, staff and players worked.
“This very important page in the Club’s history will remain forever.”
Zanetti joined the Nerazzurri as a young up-and-coming player in 1995, He spent 19 years serving the cause on the pitch, cementing himself as one of the greatest captains in the club’s history.
The iconic star eventually retired in 2014, joining the club’s backroom staff.
