Inter Milan will return to Italy immediately after their Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen tomorrow.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Tomorrow evening, Inter take on Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.
This will be the Nerazzurri’s sixth match in the “league phase” of the competition this season.
And it will be the third match that’s away from home in Europe.
Inter have already faced Manchester City in Manchester, and Young Boys in Bern.
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri have already hosted all of Red Star Belgrade, Arsenal, and RB Leipzig at the San Siro.
Inter will set out for Germany this afternoon.
The team will get settled in and ready to start preparing for tomorrow evening’s match against German champions Leverkusen.
But then there will be one key difference from Inter’s previous two away outings in the Champions League this season.
Both in Manchester and in Bern, Inter’s squad remained in the city after their match. They stayed the night and then departed back to Milan the following morning.
That will not be the case this time around, reports the Gazzetta.
Rather, the Nerazzurri squad will immediately return to Italy.
This will allow for less disruption of Inter’s training schedule ahead of next Monday’s Serie A clash with Lazio.
