Inter Milan will reportedly contemplate offers for Davy Klaassen, with Trabzonspor keeping tabs on the situation,
The 30-year-old joined the Nerazzurri on last summer’s deadline day. Ajax agreed to rescind his contract, allowing him to sign for the Italian giants on a free transfer.
Yet, his contributions to the Nerazzurri cause have been limited since his arrival.
The Dutchman has only made five appearances across all competitions, only one as a starter. He featured for a combined 73 minutes.
So according to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, the Beneamata could be willing to part ways with the player as early as January.
As the source explains, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has a well-defined pecking order in the middle of the park.
At the moment, Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are the three regular starters.
For his part, Davide Frattesi is the first alternative. The summer signing has been playing regularly, whether as a starter or a second-half substitute.
Moreover, Kristjan Asllani is gradually proving his worth and is now earning additional playing time.
Therefore, the source suggests that Klaassen’s role in the equation remains undefined.
The Nerazzurri might be willing to entertain offers, with Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor reportedly interested in his services.
The source also argues that Frattesi and Calhanoglu are versatile enough to cover various roles in midfield, which renders the Netherlands international surplus to requirements.
Klaassen signed a one-year contract with Inter with an option for a second season.
