Inter Milan Targeting Empoli Breakout Star & Bayern Munich Veteran As Replacements For €70M-Rated Chelsea Target | OneFootball

Inter Milan have lined up Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer and Empoli’s Guglielmo Vicario as potential replacements should they sell Chelsea target Andre Onana this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri want at least €70 million for Onana, but are prepared for the possible event that he is sold.

Chelsea are reportedly pushing to sign Onana this summer.

Given that the Blues are ready to sit down with Inter for talks regarding the future of striker Romelu Lukaku, they’ll also bring up their interest in Onana as part of those negotiations.

Chelsea will push to sign the Cameroonian. He is the Londoners’ first-priority target in their search for a first-choice goalkeeper.

Inter certainly will not let Onana go for cheap. The 27-year-old has been a key player this season, particularly in the Champions League.

However, as Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed, Inter will struggle to resists offers of a certain size.

The Gazzetta name €70 million as the magic number that could break Inter’s resolve to keep Onana.

Inter Ready To Move For Sommer Or Vicario If Onana Sold

Should Onana leave this summer, Inter know which players they’ll be targeting to replace the 27-year-old.

One possibility would be Bayern keeper Sommer, the Gazzetta reports.

The experienced Swiss international could leave Bayern despite only joining the German giants in January.

Sommer would have no intention of being backup to Manuel Neuer now that the Bayern captain is back from injury.

Inter have already been linked with Sommer in the past. According to the Gazzetta, their admiration for the 34-year-old has hardly waned.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta report, Empoli breakout start Guglielmo Vicario is also a major target to replace Onana.

Empoli coach Paolo Zanetti has all but confirmed that the 26-year-old will leave in the summer. If Inter are to sell Onana, then they will promptly move for Vicario, the Gazzetta reports.
