The agent of Udinese midfielder Roberto Pereyra feels that it is both possible that the Argentine could extend his contract with the Friulani, or leave on a free transfer during the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, via FCInter1908, Pereyra’s agent Federico Pastorello gave the view that the 32-year-old is capable of playing at the Champions League level, and updated on the status of contract talks with his current club.

Pereyra’s current contract with Udinese is set to run out at the end of June, and this has meant that a few clubs have been looking at the possibility of targeting the former Juventus and Watford midfielder on a free transfer in the summer.

According to the player’s agent, Pereyra has not yet made a decision one way or the other on whether he will stay at Udinese or leave to find a new club for the start of next season.

“His contract is set to expire, the talks with Udinese have been frank and open,” Pastorello explained.

“He has made his stance clear,” the agent continued, “either he has a chance to join a Champions League club, or he will stay at Udinese, where he’s captain, he’s happy.”

“The dialogue is open and the club he has made clear that they’d be happy for him to stay.”

“We’re in discussions, I don’t rule out that he could extend unless a big club comes forward with interest,” he added.

“He’s a player who’s capable of playing in the Champions League, he has maturity, he’s grown.”
