The agent of Inter-linked Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard has made clear that the Frenchman remains happy at Bayern at the moment.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the 26-year-old’s agent Joseph Mohan made clear that whilst there is no certainty that the player will extend his contract with the German champions, for the time being he is happy with the role that he has in Bavaria.

Bayern defender Pavard has been reported to be one of Inter’s major targets to replace Milan Skriniar during the summer transfer window when the Slovakian departs.

The fact that the 2018 World Cup winner’s contract with the German champions is set to run out at the end of June 2024 and no extension has yet been agreed is one of the main factors that could make him available for the Nerazzurri.

However, the player’s agent has potentially poured some cold water on the suggestion that he’s bound to leave Bayern in the summer, as he has explained that at the moment Pavard is happy with his role in the team and the playing time that he’s been getting.

“Benjamin’s attitude has changed a lot since Julian Nagelsmann moved him back to his preferred role at centre-back, as he hadn’t been as happy playing at right-back,” Pavard’s agent explained.

Mohan added that “Since his positional change, he’s found greater calmness, he’s happy where he is right now.”

As far as whether or not Pavard will sign a contract extension with Bayern, the 26-year-old’s agent explained that “Anything can happen in football, but all I can say is that right now he’s happy at Bayern.”
