Then, he lost track of Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka for Germany’s second.

Despite having a phenomenal club season, the 25-year-old struggled in another international fixture.

Meanwhile, his clubmate, Nicolo Barella, refused to go down without a fight.
