A swap deal between Inter Milan and Salernitana could be brewing, involving Stefano Sensi and Boulaye Dia.

According to Libero via FcInterNews, the two Inzaghi brothers could work hand-in-hand to put this exchange deal over the line. Simone is the manager of Inter while Salernitana have recently appointed his sibling Filippo after sacking Paulo Sousa.

As the source tells it, the Granata would like to bolster their midfield ranks by poaching the services of Sensi.

The 28-year-old is at the bottom of Simone Inzaghi’s pecking order in the middle of the park. He has only made three short Serie A cameos since the start of the season.

The Italian international joined the Nerazzurri in 2019 but recurring injury problems have hindered his progress.

After spending 18 months on loan between Sampdoria and Monza, Sensi rejoined Inter’s ranks in the summer.

But with a contract expiring at the end of the season, he will probably leave Appiano Gentile sooner or later.

Nevertheless, Inter aren’t willing to lose the services of the midfielder for free in January. Instead, they might use Salernitana’s interest in the player to propose an exchange of loans.

As the report explains, the Serie A leaders could do with a new striker in January as Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic haven’t proven themselves as competent replacements for Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

Therefore, Inter are considering adding Dia to their ranks as a short-term fix.

The 27-year-old was one of the most prolific strikers in the league last season. While his impact has dropped this term, he still contributed with four goals in 11 Serie A appearances.

The Senegalese international joined Salernitana on loan from Villarreal in 2022 before making his move permanent in the summer. His contract with the Serie A strugglers runs until 2026.
