Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has been given today off and has not been part of the Belgian national team’s training session, but this is only to give him a rest rather than because of any injury.

This according to Belgian news outlet HLN, via FCInterNews, who report that the 29-year-old was not called to training today, nor were Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne or Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard.

The international break is now in full swing, and those Inter players who were called up to their national teams are now with the squads.

In the case of Lukaku, the 29-year-old has been called up to the Belgian national team as part of the first squad named by new coach Domenica Tedesco as the Red Devils seek to rebound from a disappointing World Cup.

However, the Nerazzurri striker along with de Bruyne and Trossard is not in training yet, as Tedesco deemed that all three of the trio could use an extra day off after their exertions over the weekend.
