Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is targeting a run of performances in the Nerazzurri’s next three Serie A matches that would set the table for him to be at his best in the second leg of the team’s Champions League round of sixteen clash with Porto.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Belgian is looking at matches against Bologna, Lecce, and Spezia as ideal to fully re-establish his rhythm and confidence so he can be decisive in Europe.

Lukaku proved to be the match-winner against Porto on Wednesday, as the 29-year-old came off the bench and changed the game to give the Nerazzurri a 1-0 advantage heading into the second leg away in Portugual.

However, the sense is that the job is far from done, and that even more will be needed for the second leg at the Estadio do Dragao.

For his part, Lukaku feels that he can be even better in the second leg than he was in his second-half appearance during the first.

The striker is looking at the next three Serie A matches as a perfect testing ground in which to find match rhythm leading into that second leg match.
