Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez: Special year for Argentina

Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez is delighted to have helped Argentina reach next year's World Cup.

Lautaro and Argentina also won the Copa America 2021 this summer for the first time since 1993.

“I'm really happy for the great year we had with the national team," Lautaro told TyC Sports. “First the win of the Copa America, today the qualification for the World Cup.

“We must continue to work to progress as a team and as a group, we are on the right path. We are a group that always encourage each other, we are like brothers.

“Now, we must score as many points as possible in the last few games to try and finish first."

Martinez revealed it was 'a great joy' to be in the dressing room after the draw with the Brazilians.

“It was a great joy, a dream," Laurato revealed. “We hope to continue on this path, improving as a team and as a group."
