Inter Milan’s pursuit of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has become more dramatic than ever.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are reportedly still waiting to see whether Atalanta give them a counteroffer or explicit valuation of the 27-year-old after rejecting two offers.

In the meantime, Lookman remains an Atalanta player. And La Dea’s squad return to training today.

There’s a big question mark about what will happen with Lookman.

The Nigerian international’s very public transfer request has completely destroyed his relationship with Atalanta behind the scenes.

Lookman could continue to train alone as he, at least nominally, recovers from a calf injury.

Or the 27-year-old could, implausibly, return to training with the rest of the Atalanta squad.

In the meantime, the Corriere della Sera note, Atalanta are set to officially present Marco Sportiello after re-signing the veteran goalkeeper.

And there would be the possibility that La Dea CEO Luca Percassi reluctantly addresses the huge questions raised by Lookman’s public transfer request.

But in the meantime, as this dark cloud looms over Atalanta, the Corriere della Sera report that Inter are confident that the pressure will break and they will sign Lookman in the end.
