Inter Milan star’s agent confirms Real Madrid contact | OneFootball

The agent of a leading member of the defensive ranks at Serie A giants Inter Milan has revealed that he was contacted by Real Madrid, over a potential transfer.

The player in question? Alessandro Bastoni.

Stopper Bastoni, for his part, has long built a reputation for himself as one of Italian football’s very best in his role.

An absolutely pivotal member of Simone Inzaghi’s Inter Milan side, the 25-year-old, this past season, notched a goal and three assists across 28 league appearances, en route to the Nerazzurri romping to the Scudetto title.

Equally brilliant on the ball as he is imposing when off it, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear that, in the not so distant past, one of Spanish football’s heavyweights made contact for Bastoni’s services.

The outfit in question? Real Madrid.

It is of course common knowledge that the brass in Spain’s capital are keeping an eye out for potential reinforcements at the heart of defence with a view to next season, after captain Nacho opted to take his talents to Saudi Arabia.

And Bastoni, evidently, was considered an ideal replacement for the experienced stopper.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Italia on Thursday, Tullio Tinti, the Azzurri international’s representative, was drawn on his client’s future.

And, before confirming that Bastoni will be going nowhere any time soon, Tinti revealed that he was the subject of approaches on the part of both Manchester City and Real Madrid, regarding a potential transfer:

“Man City asked for Bastoni years ago, recently Real Madrid did the same. Inter want to win and they’re not gonna sell their top players like Bastoni.”
