Inter have set the asking price for goalkeeper Andre Onana at €40 million, with Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United both keen.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri’s valuation has been made clear as the race for the 26-year-old’s signature in the summer may be poised to heat up.

Onana only joined Inter during the summer transfer window prior to this season, arriving from Ajax on a free transfer.

However, during his first full season at the club, the Cameroonian has quickly shown that he is up to the task of replacing Samir Handanovic not just in the long term, but right away.

The quality of Onana’s performances was on full display in the Nerazzurri’s aggregate win over Porto in the Champions League.

The former Ajax keeper’s saves were crucial in securing a place in the quarterfinals for the Nerazzurri.

According to the Gazzetta, Premier League giants Chelsea have sat up and taken note.

The newspaper reports that the Blues have been tracking Onana as well as his Porto opposite number from that tie, Diogo Costa, as their search for a new keeper is in full swing.

Onana’s performances for Inter, not just in that tie but all season, will hardly have done anything to dissuade the London-based club in their interest.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are also thinking about a change between the sticks.

In this respect, Onana would be one of their major targets, the Gazzetta reports, as they could seek to reunite the former Ajax man with coach Erik Ten Hag at Old Trafford.

According to the Gazzetta, Inter would start listening to offers for their goalkeeper at around €40 million.

Given that the Cameroonian arrived less than twelve months ago without a transfer fee, any fee would represent pure capital gains for the Nerazzurri, potentially making a massive money offer difficult to turn down for the financially-stricken club.
