According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan are considering a deadline day move for Ajax’s Davy Klaassen. Discussions are currently taking place for the Dutch midfielder to join the Serie A side within the next 24 hours. Klaassen has recently fallen down the pecking order at Ajax and the 30-year-old has been informed that he probably won’t receive a lot of game time if he stays at the Johan Cruyff Arena this season.
Across two separate spells with Ajax, Davy Klaassen has featured 319 times over nine seasons. Now, it appears that his time with the Amsterdam club may have come to an end. Inter Milan will push to get the deal done before Friday’s transfer deadline. The former Everton and Werder Bremen midfielder has previously been in the interest of Lyon, but no progress was made with the French Ligue 1 side.
Inter have kicked off their campaign with two wins out of two Serie A games. Currently, they have the likes of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Çalhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan who all operate in midfield. The addition of Davy Klaassen would add experience to the Inter squad and a solid extra option for head coach Simone Inzaghi.
