According to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, the Serie A runaway leaders have now set their sights on two centre-backs from Spain who could fit the bill.

The first is Barcelona’s Eric Garcia who is spending the current campaign on loan at Girona.

The 23-year-old started his career at the Blaugrana’s famous La Masia academy before joining Manchester City in 2017.

After four years in England, Garcia returned to the Camp Nou in 2021. However, he found playing time hard to come by.

Therefore, the Blaugrana decided to send him on loan to Girona where he made himself a pillar at the back for La Liga’s ultimate Dark Horses.

He made 25 league appearances this season, scoring a couple of goals in the process.

As for Marin, he’s a physically imposing defender who has been sharpening his tools at Real Madrid’s academy since making the switch from Sevilla in 2016.

This season, the 21-year-old has cemented himself as a key player at the back while on loan at Deportivo Alaves. He has made 30 appearances across all competitions.

The Turin-based newspaper believes Inter could try to secure loan deals with an option to buy for the two Spaniards. The agreements could also include a buy-back clause in favor of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Nevertheless, the source claims Alessandro Buongiorno remains the main target for the Nerazzurri. However, Torino’s 40-million euro price tag could drive Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio away.

The other names on Inter’s shortlist are Torino’s other defender Perr Schuurs, Udinese’s Jaka Bijol and Boca Juniors contract rebel Nicolas Valentini.
