Inter Milan are determined to bring in attacking midfielder Nico Paz after his breakout season with Como in Serie A, but their hopes of securing him are dependent on Real Madrid.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, and via FCInterNews.it, the Nerazzurri have settled on Paz as their prime target this summer as they seek a young attacking midfielder to slot in behind the strikers.
Paz joined Como in 2024 from Real Madrid on a permanent transfer, but the La Liga giants have an option to resign him this summer for €9 million, and for a further €1m per season until June 2027.
Having flourished under coach Cesc Fabregas at Como, it is reported that Real Madrid are considering bringing the 20-year-old back to Spain and so Inter must find an agreement with them first.
The Nerazzurri could seek to bring Paz in on loan next season or stump up for a large transfer fee and hope that Real Madrid do not trigger their option in the coming years, particularly as Los Merengues would be entitled to 50% of the fee from Como.
Meanwhile, Como are also keen to retain the Argentina international and could be ready to offer up to €25m for him.
Inter are optimistic that the strong bond between club President Javier Zanetti and Paz’s father, Pablo, could aid their efforts though, with the pair representing Argentina together at the 1998 World Cup.
