The reigning Italian champions will kickstart their campaign by taking on Alberto Gilardino’s side at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.

So how the Nerazzurri line up for their first official fixture of the season?

According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, Piotr Zielinski and Stefan de Vrij will miss the action due to an injury alongside long-term absentee Tajon Buchanan.

On the other hand, Kristjan Asllani will be available for selection despite a recent injury scare. But as usual, the Albanian won’t be in the starting lineup.

Simone Inzaghi will once again rely on his golden midfield trio of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

In defense, Bisseck should get the nod ahead of Benjamin Pavard who has only recently returned from his summer vacation.

The 23-year-old German would thus join Italian stalwarts Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni in the three-man backline.

The source also tips Dumfries to start on the right flank at the expense of Matteo Darmian. On the opposite wing, Federico Dimarco should reclaim his usual starting berth.

The same goes for last season’s attacking partnership of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

The duo have returned relatively late from their vacations, but have been vigorously on regaining match fitness as soon as possible.

As reported this morning, Mehdi Taremi should overcome his muscular injury to make himself available.

However, the Iranian will likely make his Serie A bow while coming off the bench in the final 30 minutes.
