Inter Milan president Giuseppe Marotta tackled the rumors linking his club with a move for Lazio winger Gustav Isaksen.
The 23-year-old has recently emerged as a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur who were reportedly impressed by the player’s recent surge. Moreover, a report in La Repubblica (via Calciomercato) claimed that the Nerazzurri are also interested in the Dane, with Simone Inzaghi identifying him as a solid addition to his wingback department.
When asked to comment on the matter in an interview with Radio 1 (via LazioNews24), Marotta didn’t categorically deny the story, but he insisted that the reigning Italian champions already boast a solid squad.
He is a good player, but every day they link us to this or that player. Certainly with Lautaro and Thuram we have a European caliber attacking duo, but we will take into account what the market offers. We wil set plans later with [Inter Sporting Director Piero] Ausilio and [his assistant Dario] Baccin and we will take into account many evaluations, always with a view of remaining competitive.

So while previous reports had identified Isaksen as a player capable of bolstering Inzaghi’s wingback slots, Marotta instead brought up his current strikers, suggesting that the Denmark international would be deemed an attacking reinforcement.
In any case, prising the winger away from Rome won’t me an easy mission, whether for Inter, Spurs or any other suitor who might emerge, as Lazio president Claudio Lotito has reportedly set the starting price at €40 million, and he’s not exactly known for offering discounts, especially for a player who’s on the rise.
Isaksen has thus far contributed with five goals and as many assists this season. His feats include scoring two wonderful strikes against Napoli in the Coppa Italia and Serie A, as well as a stunning last-minute winner over Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League while Lazio were reduced to nine men.
