Inter Milan President On January Transfer Plans: ‘We Don’t Want To Sell, We Want To Continue With This Group’ | OneFootball

Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta says that the Nerazzurri don’t want to make any big sales in the January transfer window.

Marotta spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, ahead of this evening’s Coppa Italia clash with Udinese.

The January transfer window is now right around the corner.

In less than two weeks, teams in Serie A will be able to buy and sell players.

Naturally, many clubs are thinking about changing things up for the second half.

And Inter could very well be among them.

Last January, for example, Inter signed Tajon Buchanan. Meanwhile, in 2022 Inter had signed the likes of Robin Gosens and Felipe Caicedo.

The likes of Christian Eriksen, Victor Moses, and Ashley Young are among other recent January arrivals at Inter.

And then, the Nerazzurri could also be thinking of selling players. They have a deep squad and could very well decide to cash in.

Striker Marko Arnautovic has been at the centre of links to Torino.

Inter President Marotta made clear that “In principle, we want to continue with this group.”

Marotta said that the Nerazzurri’s squad is “ready to achieve the goals we’ve set for ourselves.”

“Then, if someone tells us they want to leave we’ll have to listen to them and evaluate it together.”

“But as of today there’s nothing concrete on the horizon,” Marotta made clear.

And of rumours of interest in Federico Dimarco and Simone Inzaghi from the Premier League, Marotta said that “We’re not a club that just wants to sell.”

“Our players want to stay with us,” the Inter President insisted.

“We’re happy that they feel that they belong here.”

Marotta said that “This is a group that’s been together for a few years.”

“We want to keep going on the path we’re on.”

Meanwhile, Marotta spoke about goalkeeper Josep Martinez, who makes his debut for Inter this evening.

“He’s not an unknown player,” the Nerazzurri President noted. “He had a great season last time.”

“We and the coach know him well,” Marotta added of Martinez. “It’s right to give him time to ease into the role.”

“Tonight will be important for him,” the Inter President said.
