Inter Milan are preparing a club-record bid to bring in Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku this summer.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sports, Lukaku’s agent Federico Pastorello was in Milan to meet with the club, who were told that Lukaku is very keen on working with Antonio Conte.

Inter’s first offer for the player is worth a total of €70m. Inter would take on the former Everton man on a €10m two-year loan deal, with an obligation to buy for a further €60m.

The structure of this deal would allow Inter Milan to have the funds necessary to pursue other transfer targets while still being able to lock down Lukaku to a long-term deal.

Earlier in the day, Lukaku’s agent admitted that Inter were, in fact, trying to buy the player.

“Lukaku is a dream, a difficult one to make happen as such, but I believe nothing is impossible.

“He’s publicly expressed his plans and desires. We’ll see what happens.”

Lukaku signed from Everton back in 2017 in an €85m move and has scored 42 times in 96 appearances. Lukaku only managed to score 15 times this season after scoring a whopping 27 goals in his debut campaign.
