Inter Milan are prepared to offer wingback Robin Gosens plus cash to Lazio in order to sign midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer.
This according to Italian broadcaster Radio Radio, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are serious about trying to sign the 28-year-old, and could use Gosens as part of a deal to lower the Biancocelesti’s €40 million cash valuation for him.
Milinkovic-Savic looks all but certain to leave Lazio during this summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old’s contract with the club from the Italian capital runs out at the end of next June. He has no intention of signing an extension.
With their star midfielder not signing a new deal, Lazio want to cash in this summer.
The Biancocelesti understand that this summer window represents their last opportunity to sell Milinkovic-Savic for a big fee.
Radio Radio report that Lazio do not want to part with Milinkovic-Savic for anything less than €40 million, however.
According to Radio Radio, there is significant interest in the Serbian international’s signature from the Premier League. The likes of Newcastle United and Arsenal have been reported to be keen on signing him this summer.
Radio Radio report that, of the big teams in Serie A, Inter are the most interested.
The Nerazzurri consider former Genk star Milinkovic-Savic a long-term target.
Given that the Serb spent five seasons playing under Inter coach Simone Inzaghi at Lazio, Inter’s interest in signing him makes sense. Inzaghi would like to bring Milinkovic-Savic in as a big-name midfield reinforcement.
The fee that Lazio are asking for could make a deal tricky for the Nerazzurri.
However, Inter’s strategy could involve a player-plus-cash offer.
According to Radio Radio, former Atalanta wingback Gosens is the player who they are ready to offer as part of a deal. The broadcaster do not specify what cash value Inter would place on Gosens within a deal.
Meanwhile, recent reports have named Monza’s Carlos Augusto as Inter’s preferred replacement for Gosens if the German leaves.
