The agent of Inter Milan-linked midfielder Roberto Pereyra has revealed that the Argentine could stay at Udinese, or leave for a bigger club this summer.

Speaking to reporters at the Fiorentina Media Day event, via FCInter1908, Pereyra’s agent Federico Pastorello updated on the player’s future.

Former Juventus and Watford midfielder Pereyra sees his current contract with Udinese run out at the end of this month.

As things stand, it’s not certain how he’ll move forward. If the 32-year-old does not sign an extension with the Friulani, he could leave on a free transfer this summer.

Inter are among the clubs reportedly interested in signing Pereyra. The former Bianconeri man could be a midfield reinforcement after Roberto Gagliaardini departs.

However, first Pereyra would have to decide to leave Udinese.

The Argentine international has made 33 appearances for the club this season, and 35 in all competitions. He is also Udinese’s captain.

Pastorello: Inter Target Roberto Pereyra Could Extend Udinese Contract

Pastorello updated about the situation, “Pereyra’s contract is about to expire. But there’s an open dialogue with Udinese.”

“The player feels like a part of the Pozzo family, because after he was at Juventus, he was also at Watford,” the agent noted.

“He feels at home home here, but he was very clear.”

Pastorello explained of Pereyra that “He’s very comfortable here in Udine. However, if there’s a major opportunity for him to return to European competition, particularly given his age, he would consider it.”

The agent reiterated that “The dialogue with Udinese is absolutely open. I wouldn’t exclude that he could stay.”

Pereyra had initially played for Udinese for three seasons before joining Juventus in 2014. The Argentine won the Serie A title with the Bianconeri in both his seasons in Turin.

Then, the midfielder moved to Premier League club Watford. He spent four seasons in the English top flight, and then returned to Udinese in 2020.
