The young forward has been firing on all cylinders since the start of the campaign. He has thus far scored a whopping 13 goals in nine Eredivisie appearances, in addition to three assists.

Moreover, Gimenez scored a Champions League brace in the 3-1 victory over Lazio earlier this week.

In recent weeks, the Mexican emerged as a transfer target for the Nerazzurri. News reports linked the Italian giants with a move for the Feyenoord star.

In a new interview, Gimenez admits his desire to play in Italian football one day.

The striker also revealed that he holds an Italian passport which would also facilitate his arrival in the Peninsula.

“Serie A is a very competitive league, anyone would like to play in Italy,” admitted the Mexico star in his chat with Mediaset via FcInterNews,

“Among other things, I have an Italian passport thanks to my father’s origins.”

Nevertheless, the source claims that Feyenoord have now set their asking price at 50 million euros. The report believes that this figure could ward off the suitors.

Gimenez started his career with Cruz Azul. He rose through the club’s ranks before earning a move to the Netherlands.

The striker made his senior debut for the Mexican national team in October 2021. He now has four international goals to his name from 22 caps.
