Inter Milan are in a hurry to get a sale of Marcelo Brozovic over the line so they can sign Davide Frattesi.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri want to get the Croat out the door for a big fee as soon as they can so that they can reinvest in Sassuolo midifielder Davide Frattesi.
The Croat already has the Saudi Pro League club’s offer on the table. They have also already reportedly agreed a deal with Inter, for a €23 million fee.
However, Brozovic is yet to accept Al-Nassr’s offer. He is still thinking about Barcelona as well.
Al-Nassr will reportedly meet with Brozovic face-to-face today. They want to clear the air and convince him to sign without any further delays.
Meanwhile, the Blaugranas are also making their push as well. Their coach Xavi has contacted Brozovic to try and convince him.
Having seemingly missed out on Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich and Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimenti, the Blaugranas have been ready to turn to Brozovic.
The problem that this current deadlock poses for Inter is that they’re not currently able to move for Frattesi.
Frattesi is foremost on the Nerazzurri’s list of targets for next season. A key part of the plan to sign Frattesi has always looked to be completing a sale of Brozovic first.
Without a big fee from the Croat’s sale to reinvest, affording Frattesi would be difficult. Even with the inclusion of Samuele Mulattieri in a deal.
As such, every day that Brozovic is not sold puts the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of Frattesi in further jeopardy.
Therefore, the Corriere reports, Inter’s stance is clear. They either want a deal with Al-Nassr to go through, or for Barcelona to make a decisive move.
