Inter Milan embraced an “Allegri style” of win in their gritty 1-0 Serie A victory over Venezia yesterday afternoon.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
In the end, three points was the most important thing for Inter away in Venice yesterday.
Even a draw would have been a tough result for the Nerazzurri.
After the Supercoppa Final defeat against AC Milan, Inter needed to respond. Moreover, any dropped points would see them with even more catching up to do against Napoli in the title race.
It was not the most emphatic of victories by Inter in the end.
But at both ends of the pitch, the Nerazzurri did what they needed to do.
Tuttosport compare this to the approach that coach Max Allegri has so often taken, particularly at Juventus.
Allegri has faced more than his share of criticism for the way that his teams have played, on a stylistic and aesthetic level.
But at their best, Allegri’s Bianconeri had a real knack for getting the results they needed even without really finding full flow.
So it was for Inter yesterday. The Nerazzurri found the decisive goal courtesy of Matteo Darmian.
And then, in their own penalty area, Inter held firm for the clean sheet and the win.
