Inter Milan target Rodrigo Becao wants to leave Udinese during the summer unless they can significantly increase his wages.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 27-year-old was out of the last couple matches of the Friulani’s season due to uncertainty about his future, and that his agent will soon be in Italy.

Becao’s current contract with Udinese runs out at the end of next June.

However, reports suggest that the Friulani will sell the Brazilian former CSKA Moscow man before then if he doesn’t extend his deal.

Udinese do not want to risk losing Becao for free in a year’s time. Accordingly, they will see this summer as the last major opportunity to cash in for a fee.

The club’s Sporting Director Pierpaolo Marino has admitted that contract talks with Becao are stalling.

According to the Gazzetta, this is at the root of why Becao missed Udinese’s final two Serie A matches of the season.

The Brazilian would want wages of at least €3 million net per season to stay. Given the interest of big clubs in his signature, Becao wants to earn a commensurate salary.

Inter Milan At The Window if Rodrigo Becao Leaves Udinese

Inter reportedly lead the way in the chase for Becao’s signature.

The Brazilian could be the Nerazzurri’s man to replace Milan Skriniar this summer.

With the Slovakian headed to Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer, Inter will need to find a like-for-like replacement.

Like Skriniar, Becao is very capable of playing on the right side of a back three. The 27-year-old has played in this position under the past few Udinese coaches, who have tended to employ a back three system.

Moreover, Becao is a player who’s proven himself at the Serie A level.

Reportedly, the Nerazzurri have already been in contact with Becao’s agent Luciano Ramalho. The agent will be in Italy after Becao finishes his post-season holiday.
