Serie A giants Inter Milan will soon learn their opponents for the forthcoming FIFA Club World Cup tournament.
According to FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri will avoid facing Europe’s elite clubs in the opening round.
Despite finding themselves in Pot 2, Simone Inzaghi’s charges cannot meet several top clubs from Pot 1.
Those include Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, it won’t be plain sailing for Inzaghi and his team.
South American powerhouses are more than capable of throwing a spanner in the works.
Indeed, Inter could lock horns with Flamengo, Palmeiras, River Plate, and Fluminense.
Inter and Juventus will be the Serie A representatives in the United States-held competition.
While Inter cannot encounter European heavyweights, the Bianconeri will likely have to contest at least one high-profile fixture.
However, that doesn’t mean the Nerazzurri can afford to underestimate the strength of CONMEBOL heavy hitters.
Elsewhere, clubs from Pots 3 and 4 should be no match for the Italian juggernauts.
That said, Saudi Pro League superpower Al-Hilal could prove a team to beat.
Jorge Jesus has a host of elite stars at his disposal, including former Inter target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
