With the majority of the club’s top stars on international duty, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi only has a few players at his disposal.

Nevertheless, the 47-year-old received a boost with Acerbi and Sensi back to training.

The 35-year-old is yet to make an appearance after sustaining a muscular problem during the club’s pre-season preparations.

Therefore, Inzaghi would love to have his defensive stalwart back in the squad for the upcoming Derby della Madonnina. Inter will clash heads with crosstown rivals AC Milan straight after the international break.

Stefan de Vrij has reclaimed a starting berth in Acerbi’s absence. So we shall see if the latter will prove fit enough to start the top-of-the-table Derby.

On the other hand, Sensi had sustained a slight knock recently. The midfielder is all too accustomed to injury problems.

However, the 28-year-old has apparently overcome it and is ready to make himself available for the showdown against the Rossoneri.

The former Sassuolo man returned to Inter in the summer following a loan spell at Monza.

He’s hoping to climb his way back in the pecking order, although the stern competition in midfield will make it a daunting task.

The other players who took part in Friday’s training session are Carlos Augusto, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Emil Audero, Yann Bisseck and Davy Klaassen.
