Inter’s directors have told coach Simone Inzaghi that they expect for midfielder Kristjan Asllani to be given more playing time in the remaining matches of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the directors have been a little disappointed with the 21-year-old’s progress over the season so far and would like to see more opportunities.

Whilst Asllani hardly arrived at Inter from Empoli with the expectation of becoming a regular starter in the team, he will perhaps have expected to play more than he has done.

The Albanian has found that his playing time has dried up even more in the past few weeks in particular, a trend that hasn’t been seen as positive by the club directors who have never lost faith in the player’s potential.

Accordingly, it has made clear to Inzaghi, who has shown very limited faith in Asllani, that there should be more opportunities for the 21-year-old particularly with a run-in to the season that promises to be utterly packed across multiple competitions.
