Inter Milan are determined to avoid a drawn out transfer saga like the move of Teun Koopmeiners to Juventus with their pursuit of Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan are pushing to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman. They have already made a €40 million offer for the 27-year-old, which La Dea rejected.
The Gazzetta dello Sport confirm that the Nerazzurri will make an improved bid this week. They are ready to offer around €45 million, splitting the difference with Atalanta’s €50 million counteroffer.

The Gazzetta note that Inter will also offer a permanent deal to Atalanta. Rather than the loan-with-obligation structure that they included in their first bid.
Furthermore, the Gazzetta report, with the increased fee, Inter will aim to spread the payment out over several instalments.
This is what Juventus did to sign midfielder Teun Koopmeiners from La Dea last summer.
However, the Gazzetta notes, it took the Bianconeri virtually the entire summer to secure the Dutchman’s signature.
And Inter are determine to avoid that eventuality. They will push to wrap a deal up for Lookman within a few days, rather than seeing their pursuit drag on throughout August.
