Inter Milan Crack UEFA Top 10 Clubs Rankings After Champions League Quarterfinal Win Over Benfica

Inter have made it into the top ten of the official UEFA club rankings for European football after their Champions League quarterfinal first leg win over Benfica.
This is confirmed by the European football governing body’s ranking system, as highlighted by Italian news outlet FCInterNews, which sees the Nerazzurri move level with Serie A rivals Roma and now just seven points behind Juventus in the standing.
Whilst Inter had spent some time away from European competition, and particularly the Champions League, the last few seasons have seen the Nerazzurri’s standings increase in continental knockout competition.
A return to the Champions League during the 2018-19 season after nearly a decade a way saw the Nerazzurri fail to make it out of the group stage on three occasions, but then in each of the past two campaigns under Simone Inzaghi they have reached the knockouts.
This time around, the Nerazzurri are in the quarterfinals Europe’s top club competition for the first time in twelve years.
Moreover, Inter have given themselves a very good chance of reaching the semifinals with a 2-0 win against Benfica at the Estadio da Luz.
That result additionally saw the Nerazzurri’s standing rise in the official UEFA rankings, cracking the top ten.
Meanwhile, Napoli and AC Milan, who meet in their own quarterfinal match this evening, are not yet in the top ten, whilst Juventus, who face Sporting CP in a Europa League quarterfinal first leg this evening, are the highest-ranked Italian team.
