Inter Milan are reportedly keeping tabs on Yukinari Sugawara and Aaron Wan-Bissaka who could arrive to replace Denzel Dumfries.

The Dutchman has a contract with the Nerazzurri until 2025. While the two parties have been trying to reach an agreement to push back the deadline, they haven’t yet found a breakthrough.

So if Dumfries doesn’t sign a renewal in the coming weeks, Inter will place him on the transfer list come the summer. That is because the management doesn’t intend to lose the player’s services for free a year later.

So according to Calciomercato via FcInterNews, the Serie A runaway leaders have identified two players who could potentially replace the Netherlands international if he ends up leaving the club.

The source claims the Nerazzurri have been tracking Sugawara who has been plying his trade at AZ Alkmaar since 2020.

The 23-year-old has impressive attacking stats for a wingback. He contributed with four goals and eight assists in 38 appearances across all competitions this season.

The Japan international has a contract with the Dutch club that runs until June 2025.

The report also believes that the alternative for Sugawara would be Wan-Bissaka. The Manchester United fullback resurfaced as a transfer target for Inter last week.

The 26-year-old made a name for himself at Crystal Palace which earned him a big-money move to Old Trafford in 2019. However, he hasn’t truly managed to prove himself with the Red Devils on a consistent basis since.

The England international made 22 appearances in all competitions this season, contributing with three assists.

Just like Dumfries and Sugawara, the Englishman’s current contract is only valid until 2025.
