Inter Milan are concerned as striker Mehdi Taremi is unable to travel to the USA for the Club World Cup amid Israel-Iran airstrikes.
This according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the 32-year-old is currently grounded in Tehran.
Inter Milan striker Mehdi Taremi is currently in Iran. He travelled to his home country to accept an award as Iran’s footballer of the year.
The plan had been for Taremi to fly straight from Tehran to Los Angeles. There, he would link up with the rest of the Inter squad ahead of the Club World Cup.
Inter play their opening match in that tournament next week, against Mexican team Monterrey.

However, other events have transpired which have made it difficult for Taremi to leave his home country.
Between Thursday and yesterday, Israel sent several waves of airstrikes to a number of targets in Iran.
Then, yesterday, Iran began their retaliation, with several waves of airstrikes of their own hitting a number of targets within Israel.
Naturally, the result of this has been the closure of all civilian airspace in the region. Accordingly, the scheduled flight of Inter striker Mehdi Taremi was unable to take off.
Accordingly, the Nerazzurri are concerned about the situation with the 32-year-old striker. It is unclear when Taremi will be able to travel to be with his teammates for the Club World Cup.
