The coach spoke to Amazon Prime, via FCInterNews, ahead of this evening’s Champions League group stage clash.

Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi appears to be in a bit of a bind as far as choosing his starting eleven this evening.

There is not exactly an injury crisis on the right side of the pitch. But the absences are starting to mount.

Benjamin Pavard will be out for a number of weeks recovering from a knee injury.

And Juan Cuadrado continues along his recovery from tendon problems, so he is also missing.

Therefore, there is no doubt that Matteo Darmian will start this evening.

But it is not yet clear where the Italian international will play.

Darmian can fill in for Pavard on the right side of the back three. That is where the 33-year-old played in every one of Inter’s Champions League knockout matches last season.

But on the other hand, Denzel Dumfries could also be out of the starting eleven for this evening’s match.

The Dutchman is definitely in the squad. But according to reports, he is not at his best. Therefore, Inzaghi could leave Dumfries out.

In that case, Darmian would move up to right-wingback.

And without Pavard as an option on the right of defense, it could be the time for Bisseck to shine. The Germany Under-21 international could make his first ever start for Inter.

Inzaghi Not Yet Sure Whether He’ll Start Dumfries Or Bisseck Vs Salzburg

So it looks as though Inzaghi’s decision will be between Dumfries and Bisseck.

And according to the coach, he’s still thinking about it.

As far as the condition of Dumfries, Inzaghi admitted that “He’s still dealing with an issue. He’s a player I have to evaluate.”

“I’ll make my decision [today] whether he starts or is on the bench.”

And of Bisseck, Inzaghi said that “He’s been doing very well in training ever since he arrived.”

“He could get his chance, either from the start or from the bench,” he said of the German.

“I’ll evaluate carefully.”

Of coming up against Salzburg for the second time in a couple weeks, Inzaghi said that “We know how important this match is. But we also know the potential pitfalls.”

“We’re up against a team who’re very physical, very technical, full of running.”

Inzaghi predicted that “It will be a very difficult match in an intense stadium. We’ll need a great performance.”
