Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi feels that AC Milan are still in the Serie A title race along with the Nerazzurri and Juventus.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the Supercoppa Italiana in Riyadh, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri coach gave his thoughts on the Supercoppa as well as the league.

The common consensus seems to be that the Serie A title is currently between Inter and Juventus.

After all, in recent weeks, it has generally been just two points separating the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri at the top of the table.

If Juventus can beat Sassuolo this evening, that will be the case once again.

And teams like Napoli, Roma, and Lazio would certainly appear to be too far behind to realistically catch up.

But there is one team who are still in striking distance.

AC Milan had fallen out of the title talk due to some poor results in the fall. But they are nine points behind Inter, and for the time being at least, just four behind Juventus.

Moreover, the Rossoneri are in good form. They got a statement win over Roma on Sunday evening.

Simone Inzaghi: AC Milan Also In Title Race With Inter & Juventus

Of the title race with Juventus and Bianconeri coach Max Allegri’s suggestion that the teams at the top are playing a game of “cops and robbers” Inzaghi said that “I’ve heard and read about it a bit.”

“But I think it’s normal to have these dialectics in the world of football.”

“I’ve been in this world for many years,” Inzaghi said. “And I know how it works.”

The Inter coach argued that “The league is seeing a brilliant title race between Inter and Juventus.”

“And I also shouldn’t forget about Milan,” he continued.

“They have a great squad and are in good form. I think we can consider them in it as well.”

And of the Supercoppa, starting with tomorrow’s semifinal against Lazio, Inzaghi said that “It’s our first major objective of the season.”

“We’ve won it in the last two seasons and we want to win it again. But the other teams will want the same thing as well.”

“We’ll have to do our best,” Inzaghi said.

“I’m focused on the Supercoppa and then we’ll think about the Scudetto race later,” Inzaghi said.

“We’re on a great run. But there’s a team just behind us who are doing similarly well.”

“And then there’s Milan, who have won four of their last five,” he stressed again.

And Inzaghi also answered a question about ex-Inter striker Romelu Lukaku not voting for him as one of the three best coaches in the world at FIFA’s “The Best” ceremony.

“He voted for three great coaches,” the Nerazzurri coach said. “It wouldn’t be right to disagree with that.”
