Inter Milan are ready to double and triple up on Napoli danger men Romelu Lukaku and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, while Scott McTominay could be the wild card.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They detail the Nerazzurri’s approach to containing Napoli’s biggest threats.

Inter will have a clear idea of which Napoli players can cause the biggest problems for them this evening.

Perhaps most of all will be striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian is certainly a player who Inter know well. He spent three seasons in total wearing the Nerazzurri shirt.

And Lukaku is never more dangerous than when he is playing under Antonio Conte.

So Inter will have a clear marking strategy to try and restrict Lukaku’s ability to get good chances or make dangerous runs with the ball.

At the heart of Inter’s approach will be veteran defender Francesco Acerbi. The 36-year-old has effectively man-marked plenty of top strikers – including Lukaku last season.

But Acerbi will also get help. There will be help from the likes of Alessandro Bastoni, Hakan Calhnaoglu, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Those players will screen Acerbi and give Lukaku one more defender to beat depending on the situation.

Inter Not Just Marking Lukaku – Kvaratskhelia & McTominay Also A Threat

The other big danger man for Napoli could be winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The Georgian’s dribbling ability and turn of pace are a weapon that Napoli have used to unlock plenty of opposition defenses this season.

The player who will be directly up against Kvaratskhelia will be defender Benjamin Pavard.

However, Nicolo Barella and Denzel Dumfries will also have their role to play in doubling and tripling up on the Napoli winger.

Moreover, that is also the area of the pitch where former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay operates.

The Scottish international’s runs have been a big attacking weapon for Napoli this season.

Therefore, Inter cannot just defend individually on their right side.

The Nerazzurri will do everything they can to keep Napoli from establishing any sort of numerical superiority.
