Yesterday Inter got their hands on the Supercoppa Italiana for the third time in a row.

And it was the second time that they had done so in Saudi Arabia. In 2022 Inter beat Juventus at the San Siro, whilst last time around they faced AC Milan in Riyadh.

Naturally, the entire Supercoppa experience took a toll on Inter.

The travel to Saudi Arabia and the adjustment to a different climate were hardly easy.

And then the team had two tough matches to play in the space of just four days.

The Nerazzurri played at a frenetic tempo against Lazio in the semfiinal on Friday. Then yesterday against Napoli, it was a different sort of match.

Perhaps feeling the effects of the match against the Biancocelesti and just a couple days of rest, Inter did not quite look at the same level against Napoli yesterday.

This means that the team had to push right until the end, scoring in stoppage time.

And then Inter travelled back to Italy, to start preparing for their next match. The Nerazzurri travel to Tuscany to face Fiorentina in Serie A on Sunday.

But the preparations will not start just yet.

After all the travel and then two taxing matches, Inter coach Inzaghi has decided to give his players one day to rest and catch their breath.

Then tomorrow, Inter will be back in training, preparing to face Fiorentina.

Considering the importance of keeping Juventus at bay in the title race, the team will certainly want to be at their best physically against La Viola.
