The 67-year-old made a speech, thanking Milano mayor Giuseppe Sala for the prestigious award.

“I thank the mayor for the Ambrogino award, an icon of gratitude from the city of Milan,” said Marotta as published by FcInterNews.

“We are proud of what he achieved. We know that football is a business phenomenon. All clubs are joint-stock companies, but mainly football is a social phenomenon.

“We all have in mind the bus parade in the midst of the crowds that gave warmth to the team. Around 500 thousand people joined the celebrations.”

The former Sampdoria and Juventus general director thanked everyone who work at Inter for the Scudetto achievement.

“The main recognition goes to the coach and the players for whom I renew a feeling of affection. But no team wins on the pitch without the backing of a strong club.

“The mayor spoke about the warehouse workers, and I also want to mention all those who are behind the spotlight and contributed to this extraordinary achievement.”

“We’re not arrogant, but we have very clear ideas on how to be successful. We must not hide, we must have the courage to face our opponents, if they are stronger, we will congratulate them.

“The bar should be increasingly higher and try to lay the foundations for a winning cycle.

“We are Inter, we have the obligation to look back on our glorious achievements from the past. We are celebrating twenty league titles.”
