Inter Milan can only afford to add a young striker to their ranks this summer, with Vladyslav Vanat emerging as the most plausible profile for the role.

As reported earlier today, Marko Arnautovic has agreed to stay at the club as a fourth-choice striker.

The former former West Ham star fell down the pecking order following the arrival of Mehdi Taremi.

The latter has become the main backup for Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram. The duo remain Simone Inzaghi’s main choices upfront.

Yet, Arnautovic is still adamant about staying at Appiano Gentile and seeing out his contract which expires at the end of the season.

So with the Austrian not going anywhere, Inter can’t afford to add another big profile to the attacking department, explains La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInter1908.

In other words, the club is unlikely to land Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson. The latter has a price tag of circa 30 million euros.

The pink newspaper notes that if the Italian champions are going to sign a new striker, it will have to be a young and affordable profile.

The source names Dinamo Kyiv’s Vanat as the favorite for the role.

The 22-year-old is a youth product of the Ukrainian capital side. He rose through the club’s ranks to become a regular feature in the senior squad starting in 2022.

The young bomber showcased his proficiency in front of goal in the previous two campaigns. He scored 12 league goals in 2022/23 and 14 last term.

Nevertheless, Inter will have to make room for Vanat in the squad and on the books by offloading Joaquin Correa.

The Nerazzurri are desperate to sell the disappointing Argentine, but have been struggling to find him a buyer.
