Inter Milan’s attack looked in scintillating form against Cagliari, at the perfect time ahead of the Serie A run-in and second leg against Bayern Munich.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan scored three goals to see off Cagliari fairly comfortable in Serie A yesterday.
The Nerazzurri have now scored 72 goals in the league. This is only the third time they’ve ever done so after 32 matches – both previous occasions were under Simone Inzaghi.
Inter had reached that total at this stage of the 2021-22 and 2023-24 seasons.
Marko Arnautovic was the hero on the evening. The Austrian was at his absolute best, producing a goal and an assist in the first half.

But while Arnautovic’s contribution was outstanding, it was just the tip of the spear for Inter.
Inter looked a highly formidable attacking unit as a whole. It was clear that it’s no coincidence that they have scored the most goals out of any team in Serie A this campaign.
And that is good news considering the point of the season Inter find themselves in.
The Nerazzurri will need goals over their last six matches in Serie A.
These will all be decisive in the title race run-in against Napoli.
Moreover, Inter have yet to keep a clean sheet since returning from the March international break. Therefore, they will clearly see scoring goals as their best guarantee.
Meanwhile, Inter will also undoubtedly feel that they need another goal or two against Bayern Munich in the Champions League if they’re to see out their advantage in the quarterfinals.
But on yesterday’s evidence, that may not prove a problem for the Nerazzurri.
