Inter Milan, AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, and Juventus are all keen to sign Torino defender Alessandro Buongiorno.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper anticipate that it would also be very possible for the Italian international to stay at the Granata.
Buongiorno has been enjoying something of a breakout season with Torino.
Whilst the 24-year-old was hardly an unknown at the start of the campaign, he has been enjoying his most impressive season to date.
Buongiorno has been a key player in the centre of Torino’s back three.
The Italian showed that once again in the derby against Juventus over the weekend.
Buongiorno’s combination of strength, pace, and anticipation has made him an extremely adept man-marker.
Moreover, the fact that the 24-year-old has looked so comfortable defending his penalty area in the centre of a back three could also make him attractive to a number of teams.
And according to Tuttosport, a queue is starting to form for Buongiorno’s signature.
Inter are one of the main teams who are keen on signing the 24-year-old. However, the Nerazzurri are far from the only ones.
From within Serie A both AC Milan and Torino’s city rivals Juventus also see Buongiorno as a potential target.
Naturally, the prospect of signing an Italian international who could very easily play at the highest level for at least a decade is not escaping the notice of the Italian top flight’s biggest teams.
But it is not just teams within Serie A that are eyeing up Buongiorno.
La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are also considering a move for the Italian international. And according to Tuttosport, there is also a fair bit of interest from the Premier League.
However, the newspaper notes, it is hardly impossible that Buongiorno could stay at least one more season at Torino.
The Granata resisted a big offer from Atalanta last summer. And Buongiorno decided to say no to La Deal – instead signing a contract extension with the Granata.
Therefore, it is hardly impossible that even offers from bigger clubs this summer won’t be successful.
